Etsy is the most popular place to sell crafts online… but that doesn’t mean it is the best place.I personally think you should have your own website for your handmade business. That way you have more control over branding, how you price your products, and how you communicate with your customers. It does take more work than listing your products on Etsy, but you need a website if you’re serious about growing a profitable handmade craft business.
In the meantime, if you’re tired of dealing with Etsy’s constantly changing policies, you do have other options. Etsy is just one place to sell handmade crafts online. Below is a list of 32 Etsy alternatives. Some of them are completely free.
Where to Sell Handmade Items
I’ve compared the monthly membership fees, setup fees, listing fees, and transaction/commission fees for all the sites I could find that let you sell your art, crafts, sewing projects, and other handmade goods online. I hope you find this post helpful.
Disclaimer: This webpage was last edited in October 2019. Seller sites occasional change their fee structures. I cannot guarantee that all listed fees are still accurate for every site.

There’s another handmade platform. It’s called Goimagine. They had their official public launch in 2020, they are quickly joining the spotlight. Goimagine is the world’s first online handmade marketplace which donates 100% profits to charity. Handmade only. No vintage, no buy sell. They are now and always will be handmade only. I’ve been with them for more than a year and they truly are the best to work with; responsive, ethical, they follow up on their promises, they actually ask our opinions when making changes to the site. (I’ve had an Etsy store for 6 years, btw.) Goimagine has no contracts, just a monthly fee and you may change your plan or stop at any time. Lowest plan is $2.50/month + 5% transaction fee for 25 listings; highest plan is only $10/month +3.5% transaction fee for 1,000 listings! One of the many things I really like is that I can create my own custom categories, and I can put a single item in as many of my custom categories as I want. Also, their top two plans offer a semi-private site at no extra charge. Semi-private means that there is no marketplace advertisement on your site, no encouragement to steer a customer away from your page. If you are a maker looking for something new, check out goimagine.
