Sew Ready Studio Designs Cutting Table Review: Is It Worth It?
A good cutting table can save your back and transform your sewing setup. Here's my honest review of the Sew Ready Studio Designs Folding Craft Cutting Table, including what I love about it (adjustable height, collapsible leaves, built-in storage), what I don't (price and assembly time), and whether it's worth the investment.

I just got a new cutting table for my sewing room and I am genuinely thrilled with it. If you've been cutting fabric on a dining room table or — worse — the floor, you know exactly why having a proper cutting surface is such a big deal.
I bought the Sew Ready Studio Designs Folding Multipurpose Craft Cutting Table with Drawers, and after comparing it to a similar table I had from another brand, this one wins by a mile. It's sturdier, better designed, and I'm confident it'll last me a long time.
What I Love About It
Adjustable-Height Legs This is one of the most important features in any cutting table. Hunching over while cutting out a pattern is a guaranteed backache, and if you've ever spent an hour crouching over a kitchen table, you know the pain I mean. The Sew Ready table adjusts to a comfortable standing height for most people. I'm 5'7" and it works perfectly for me, with room to accommodate taller sewists too. The legs also have locking casters, which makes it easy to roll the table around your sewing space and lock it in place when you're ready to work.
Collapsible Leaves If you're worried a cutting table won't fit your space, this feature solves that problem. The table has two leaves that fold down when not in use. Pull them both out and you get a generous 36"x58" cutting surface, which is plenty of room for large pattern pieces. Fold them down and the table takes up a fraction of the space.
Built-In Storage The shelf and storage bins underneath the tabletop aren't just convenient — they also add stability and make this table noticeably sturdier than comparable models that skip the built-in storage.
The Cutting Mat I also picked up a Sullivans 36"x59" cutting mat to lay on top. It covers the entire surface and is perfect for use with a rotary cutter. It only hangs over the edge by about half an inch, which is basically ideal.
What I Don't Love
The Price The Sew Ready table costs roughly 50% more than similar cutting tables on the market. It's a premium product, and the quality is genuinely worth it in my opinion, but if budget is your primary concern, the Sullivans Home Hobby Table is the most affordable alternative. Just know that it doesn't have built-in storage and isn't as sturdy.
I bought my Sew Ready table during a January sale, so if you're patient, watching for a discount is worth it.
The Assembly This table comes in a large box and took me and my husband about two hours to put together. The instructions were clear and every piece was included — I'd read some reviews on Amazon expressing concern about missing parts, but that wasn't my experience at all. You only need a Phillips head screwdriver, which is a nice touch. But if you're not into assembly projects, just be prepared to set aside some time.
My Verdict
Pin ItThe Sew Ready Studio Designs cutting table is the best cutting table I've owned. It's sturdy, thoughtfully designed, saves space when you need it to, and holds up to real use. The higher price reflects genuinely better quality. It also comes in a few color options, and you can get an iron cover to go with it in addition to the cutting mat.
If you're serious about your sewing space, this table is worth it.
