Do you sell handmade items in the magical, mystical, or fantasy niches?

Then I found a site that might interest you…

FaeHolm is a website like Etsy where you can list products you’ve made to sell. If you’re tired of the saturated market and everchanging rules on Etsy, FaeHolm could be a good solution for you, especially if the products you make fit into their genre.

I stumbled upon this selling platform while doing research for my recent post on Etsy alternatives. FaeHolm stood out to me because it is unique and fills a need for magical niche handmade sellers.

More on FaeHolm

Amanda Dascoli founded FaeHolm in 2019. She was concerned that Etsy and other marketplaces excluded certain artisans. Amanda wanted to create a home and safe haven where artisans who sell mystical types of items could go.

Etsy is not the only option for selling handmade items. If you’re looking for something a little different, check out FaeHolm. It differs from Etsy in that it was built with more of a community focus. Plus, FaeHolm hosts a couple of Facebook groups to help the community grow.

Amanda said, “We’re dedicated to giving you the very best, with a focus on dependability, customer service, and uniqueness.”

Why Choose FaeHolm?

There are no unknown fees at FaeHolm because Amanda believes open communication is key for success, no matter the situation. The site is free to join and free to list items. FaeHolm simply takes 10 percent of each sale to cover processing fees and operation costs.

Amanda really wants artisans to flourish in their businesses, even if that means they may leave FaeHolm someday. She said, “I want to treat artisans with the most respect so that if they can leave, they might not, since they love FaeHolm as much as I do.”

FaeHolm is a new selling community and more features will be coming soon. Amanda’s goal for FaeHolm is to make it both a selling and learning platform for handmade sellers. Additionally, she wants to use some of the profits from the site to help local charities. All artisans can vote on which charities FaeHolm will support.

It’s understandable if you’re afraid to leave Etsy and other mainstream selling sites, but why not add FaeHolm to your business strategy? After all, I’m sure you’ve heard it’s never good to put all your eggs in one basket.

I suggest you create a website for your handmade business and sell on other platforms. Having your own website gives you complete control over branding, marketing, and selling. That’s why ultimately your website should be your main focus. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t start out selling on a site like Etsy or FaeHolm.

These selling platforms do have merit. If they didn’t, people wouldn’t use them. Selling platforms bring your business traffic, they help you test your products in a real market, and they give you experience selling online. These are all valuable things that will help you improve and run your business better and transition to your own website when you are ready. Go check out FaeHolm and see if it’s the right selling platform for you.
