In the hoop (ITH) embroidery designs are becoming more popular. They are small projects that get stitched out completely with an embroidery machine. Are you looking for the best in the hoop embroidery designs? I’ve compiled a massive list of websites that sell this type of machine embroidery file.
Bookmark this page so you can come back and look at them all!
If you hate cutting out pattern pieces, stressing over straight stitches, and lining up embroidery designs perfectly, you need to try in the hoop patterns. ITH zipper bags are fun but I am also a fan of ITH placemats and ITH stuffed animals. Some other in the hoop embroidery projects I’ve seen are ITH bookmarks, ITH ornaments, ITH facemasks, ITH potholders, and ITH bags.
You need an embroidery machine for in the hoop embroidery projects. If you don’t already have one, I suggest you get an embroidery machine with the biggest size hoop you can afford. However, keep in mind that these machines are pricey. You could spend as much as $20,000 for a top-of-the-line embroidery machine.
I own the Bernette b79. It is a midrange embroidery machine with a 6”x10” hoop. It costs about $2,000. You can get started with machine embroidery for less money with the Brother SE600 (4”x4”) or the Brother SE1900 (5”x7”).
Additionally, I have a cute sewing machine-shaped flash drive where I can store machine embroidery designs in one place. You might need a flash drive to transfer embroidery designs to your machine, too.

Have I left any site off the list? Let me know in the comments below.
Of course, don’t forget to look on Etsy for ITH embroidery designs. I’ve purchased many embroidery designs from this site. I love the fact that they store the embroidery file for you so you can go back and get it whenever you want.
Creating Your Own ITH Designs
When I bought an embroidery machine, I was shocked to learn the cost of embroidery digitizing software. If you want to create your own embroidery designs, you need a program like Embrilliance or SewArt to do it. However, it’s not that simple… You’ll also need to spend time learning how to use it and testing your machine embroidery designs. Designing in the hoop patterns is even more difficult. Embroidery design software is worth the investment if you want to do a lot of machine embroidery or you want to sell your designs. I’d love to add your machine embroidery website to this list if you sell ITH designs. Let me know in the comments below.
