Meet Your New AI Sewing Coach (And Why I'm So Excited About It)

I've been working on a lot of things behind the scenes here at Sewing Society, and this is the one I'm most excited to share. We now have a free AI Sewing Coach right here on the website, and it's available to you any time you need it.

So What Can It Actually Do?

Think of the AI Sewing Coach as a knowledgeable sewing friend who's available around the clock. You can ask it pretty much anything sewing-related and get a real, helpful answer in seconds.

Here are just a few ways you can use it:

Troubleshooting problems. Skipped stitches? Puckered seams? A zipper that won't lie flat? Describe what's going wrong and the AI Sewing Coach will help you figure out what's causing the issue and how to fix it.

Getting help with instructions. We've all hit that point in a sewing pattern where the instructions make absolutely no sense. You can type out the step you're confused about and ask for a plain-English explanation.

Project tips and advice. Working on something specific — a lined jacket, a pair of trousers, a quilted bag? Ask for tips tailored to your exact project and get guidance that actually applies to what you're making.

Asking follow-up questions. This is one of my favorite things about it. It's not just a one-and-done answer. You can keep the conversation going, ask follow-up questions, and dig deeper into whatever you need to know. It remembers the context of your conversation, so you don't have to keep explaining yourself.

Sharing photos of your sewing problems. Not sure how to describe what's gone wrong? You can actually show it. Upload a photo of your sewing issue, such as a wobbly seam, a strange fabric pucker, or a fitting problem, and the AI Sewing Coach can look at it and help you work out what's happening.

Who Is It For?

Honestly? Everyone. Whether you've been sewing for twenty years or you just bought your first machine, there's something in here for you.

If you're newer to sewing, it's like having a patient teacher on call. You can ask the most basic questions without feeling embarrassed, and you'll get a clear, helpful answer every time.

If you're more experienced, it's a brilliant sounding board. Sometimes you just need to talk through a problem out loud — or in this case, type it out — and having something respond thoughtfully can help you get unstuck fast.

How Do You Access It?

The AI Sewing Coach is FREE to use. All you need to do is log in to your Sewing Society account. Once you're logged in, look for the chat icon in the bottom right corner of the website at www.sewingsociety.com and click to open it. That's it — just start typing.

I know there are a lot of AI tools floating around right now, and it can feel a little overwhelming. But my AI Sewing Coach was built with sewists in mind, and I genuinely think it fills a gap that's been missing in the sewing community for a long time. I am constantly updating its knowledge base and the questions that are asked help me do that, too.
