Pattern Review: Pajama Party Pants from Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop
The Pajama Party Pants pattern from Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop is one of my go-to beginner sewing projects. It sews up in about 20 minutes, comes in sizes 12 months to 10 years, and works with any type of cotton or flannel. Here's my honest review, including fabric tips, a sizing note, and why I keep coming back to this pattern.

I've been sewing pajama pants for my two boys this week as Christmas gifts, and I have to say this project could not be more satisfying. Quick to sew, zero frustration, and the boys are going to love them.
I used the Pajama Party Pants pattern from Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop, and it is genuinely one of the most beginner-friendly patterns I've come across.

What I Love About This Pattern
The construction is as simple as it gets. If you can sew in a straight line, you can make these pajama pants. That makes it an excellent first garment project for brand new sewists, and a fantastic quick gift for anyone who sews.
One detail I really appreciate is that the back piece is cut larger than the front. It gives the seat of the pants more room and makes it easy for little kids to tell the front from the back when they're getting dressed. Such a thoughtful touch.
I've used this pattern multiple times in several sizes. My son loves his pajama pants, and they hold up really well through repeated washing.

What You'll Need
1 to 2 yards of fabric (amount depends on the size you're making)
Coordinating thread
1-inch elastic
I used flannel for my boys' pants, which is perfect for pajamas. This pattern works well with any type of cotton. The plaid fabric you see in the photos came from JoAnn.
A quick note on elastic: the pattern calls for 1-inch elastic, but if you prefer a thicker waistband, you can easily use wider elastic. There's plenty of room in this pattern to accommodate it.
Pin ItSizing note: The pattern runs a little large, so if you're between sizes, consider sizing down.
If you're looking for a fast, easy, and adorable project to sew for the kids in your life, this is it. I'll definitely keep coming back to this one.
