Pattern Review: Wanderlust Duffel Bag from Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop
I made two faux leather duffel bags for a church auction using the Wanderlust Duffel Bag pattern from Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop — one lined with University of Utah fabric and one with BYU fabric for a little friendly rivalry. Here's a look at the finished bags and why this pattern keeps ending up in my rotation.

I have been on a serious duffel bag kick lately, and I don't think I'm stopping anytime soon.
Last month I made a large duffel bag for my father-in-law's birthday using the Wanderlust Duffel Bag pattern from Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop — and it turned out so well that I immediately made two more. This time out of faux leather, for a church auction.
This pattern is awesome. I mean it. I keep coming back to it.
The Auction Bags: Dueling Duffels
For the auction I wanted to do something a little fun, so I made what I'm calling dueling duffels. Both bags are made from faux leather on the outside, but the insides are where things get interesting — one is lined with University of Utah fabric and the other with BYU fabric.

We're a divided household when it comes to college football, so I figured why not bring a little friendly rivalry to the auction? I think they turned out great, and I have a feeling they're going to spark some competitive bidding.
Why I Love the Wanderlust Duffel Pattern
The Wanderlust Duffel from Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop is one of those patterns that just works every time. It comes in multiple sizes, the instructions are clear, and the finished bag looks polished and professional. It sews up faster than you'd expect for how impressive the result is.
Faux leather adds a really beautiful, elevated look to this bag. It does take a little more patience to sew — you'll want to use a Teflon foot or walking foot, and clips instead of pins to avoid permanent holes in the material — but the finished result is absolutely worth it.
Pin ItWhether you're making it as a gift, for an auction, or just for yourself, the Wanderlust Duffel is a pattern I'd recommend without hesitation.

Here's another Wanderlust I made for my father-in-law. it has hotwheels fabric on the inside.
