I’m sure you’ve seen some of the viral sewing videos that feature products from Madam Sew… They seem to be all over Facebook lately!

Does it make you wonder if Madam Sew is legit? Well, I’ve given the company a try and wanted to share my honest review with you.

Overall, I’ve been mostly impressed with Madam Sew products — I have six of them:

Below is my review of each of the Madam Sew products I own.

Seam Guide Ruler and Magnetic Seam Guide ⭐⭐

The magnetic seam guide is handy for beginners who have a hard time sewing straight, but I don’t ever use the seam guide ruler. Pretty much all sewing machines have seam guide marks on the needle plate, so this product is unnecessary.

Easy Bias Tape Makers (4 sizes) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you’ve ever tried to make bias tape, you know how tedious and difficult it is… Getting the folds just right and avoiding burns from your iron is difficult. That’s why I love Madam Sew’s Easy Bias Tape Makers. They fold both edges of your fabric at the same time and make perfectly even bias tape every time. I think this is one of Madam Sew’s best products!

Heat Erasable Fabric Marking Gel Pens ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I like these fabric marking pens a lot. Madam Sew gives you a few different colors, including white! They work well on cotton and disappear when ironed. My only problem with them is that they come apart easily. The cap screws on and off for you to add refills, but it doesn’t stay tight.

Sewist Magic Wand ⭐⭐

I use my Sewist Magic Wand all the time for pushing out corners and holding down fabric while I sew. However, you could easily use something else, like a chopstick to perform these tasks. That’s why I only gave it two stars… Yes, it is useful, but not really necessary to own.

Lighted Seam Ripper ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Everyone who sews needs a seam ripper… I love, love, love, this lighted seam ripper from Madam Sew! It has an ergonomic handle with a little switch to turn on the LED light. It makes seeing small stitches so much easier.

Needle Sorting Pincushion ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you need to change your sewing machine’s needle for a new project but think your old needle is still good, you can use a needle sorting pincushion to keep it in a safe place. I like the idea because the little boxes are labeled so you can easily see what type of needles you are storing. I recently saw an ITH embroidery pattern for a needle parking pincushion that is basically the same thing. I don’t typically save my sewing machine needles because I like to know I am using a fresh one, but I see that this Madam Sew product has merit.

So, yes, Madam Sew is a legit company with some fun sewing products. I’d be careful about buying the presser foot set, though. You’re probably fine to get them if you have one of the cheaper Brother or Singer sewing machines, but you’ll need to get a presser foot adaptor if you have a Bernina machine.

I read some bad reviews of Madam Sew on the internet. Most of the complaints had to do with international shipping. If you live in the U.S., I don’t think you’ll have any problems.
