When I was in high school, my Home EC teacher purchased a long-arm quilting machine for our sewing class. It was so big that it took up the entire storage room connected to our classroom. I spent a couple of classes free-motion quilting a bedspread for one of the teachers. That was my first experience with a long-arm quilting machine, and I was hooked.

Quilting technology has come a long way since my high school days… There were no computerized quilting systems back then.

Now there are QUILTING ROBOTS!

You can convert practically any long-arm machine with a computerized quilting system.

What Is a Computerized Quilting System?

A computerized quilting system controls the movement of your long-arm quilting machine. After some initial setup, you can upload designs to your ‘quilting robot’ and then watch your long-arm machine do all the quilting for you. I like to think of it as a huge embroidery machine.

There are several advantages to using a computerized quilting system:

  • No more sore arms and back
  • More precise designs
  • Faster quilting

There are several computerized quilting systems on the market today. If you’re not sure where to start your research, I suggest you check out Quilt EZ.

Now, I’m not going to lie — computerized quilting systems are expensive. However, they can truly level up your quilting game and even open up some amazing business opportunities. The Quilt EZ system is one of the more reasonably priced and best value systems.

A Closer Look at Quilt EZ

The Quilt EZ Butler is a robotic quilting system that can attach to ANY mid- or long-arm machine. The company has provided extensive instructions for converting practically any machine on the market, and it’s easier than you think…

There is a motor that attaches to the bottom carriage of your quilting frame and then a belt that attaches to the sides to allow for movement. Then, you mount the touch-screen display to the head of your quilting machine for fast and easy access. It even works with machines that have a stitch regulator.

The Quilt EZ Butler has a touchscreen display and powerful editing features. For a more comprehensive list of features and benefits, check out the Quilt EZ Butler on SewingMachinesPlus.com. They are an authorized dealer.

As with all machines, there is a learning curve, but the Quilt EZ Butler is intuitive and the company has come out with several tutorials to help you get started.
