I am so excited because my first box from IndieStitch arrived in the mail today! I’ve tried several sewing subscription boxes, so I wanted to show you how IndieStitch is different.

IndieStitch is a sewing subscription box for women. Every month you get a PDF pattern, 2-3 yards of fabric, all the notions you need to complete a garment sewing project (buttons, thread, elastic, etc.), and some fun sewing swag! When you subscribe, all the sewing supplies are curated for you and delivered to your door, but the best part is that you get to join a sewing community where everyone is working on the same project. You can ask questions, watch sew alongs, and show off your progress.

Doesn’t IndieStitch sound like a lot of fun? This post is dedicated to my first IndieStitch unboxing, but I plan to write a proper review once I complete the project that came in the box.

Discount Code: If you’re interested in trying this sewing subscription box, too, IndieStitch has agreed to give my readers a 50% discount on their first box! All you need to do is use the code: SOCIETY50 at checkout. This code is good for a 6-month or 12-month subscription. Thanks, IndieStitch!

What Do You Get in IndieStitch?

Since this is the first box I have received from IndieStitch, I thought it would be fun to share some unboxing photos:

Here’s a list of everything that came inside my IndieStitch box:

  • The Donovan Skirt Pattern from Helen’s Closet Patterns (Printed and PDF)
  • 2.5 yards of woven fabric. I got some lovely blue and ivory stripe chambray.
  • A spool of coordinating thread
  • Two sewing machine needles
  • Some wide elastic for the waistband
  • A strip of interfacing
  • Plus Bonus Items: Curved ruler, sewing snips, laundry soap sample, and sewing machine sticker!

I’m excited to get started on this sewing project from IndieStitch. The skirt pattern looks super simple — I bet it will only take 1-2 hours.

I looked through some of the previous boxes from IndieStitch and it looks like all of the patterns are geared towards beginners. I think that’s great! And the fact that you have access to sew alongs makes IndieStich even more beginner friendly!

Don’t forget, you can get 50% off your first box with the code: SOCIETY50. This is good for a 6-month or 12-month subscription. I hope you’ll give it a try and let me know what you think.

Have you tried any sewing subscription boxes yet? Let me know in the comments below!
