Product Features

  • Touch Screen Display: The large, 3.2” LCD touch screen allows you to view and select embroidery designs in full color. You can easily change thread colors and preview the designs before you begin stitching.
  • 5×7 Embroidery Field: The 5”x7” embroidery area provides plenty of space for lettering and large designs. It is an upgrade from the small, 4”x4” embroidery area on beginner embroidery machines.
  • 138 Built-In Embroidery Designs: Several floral, seasonal, and kids designs come preprogrammed on this machine, including 10 frame shapes. It’s easy to adjust the size, rotate, or mirror-image these designs with the touch of a button.
  • USB Port to Import Embroidery Designs: You’re not limited to the designs that come preprogrammed on this machine; you can download thousands more and import them with a USB drive.
  • 240 Built-In Sewing Stitches: The standard straight and zig-zag stitches come on this machine, along with scallops, flowers, geometric stitches, and more. Additionally, there are 10 buttonhole stitches that are automatically sized to fit your buttons.
  • 11 Monogramming Fonts: 7 English fonts, 3 Japanese fonts, and 1 Cyrillic font come preprogrammed on this machine. You can easily adjust the size and arrangement of the letters with the press of a button. If you need additional fonts, you can always download more.
  • Free-Motion Sewing Support: You can drop the feed dogs on this machine and perform free-motion sewing. This means you can “draw” your own designs with thread.
  • Automatic Needle Threader: You’ll never waste time trying to thread the eye of your sewing machine needle again because this machine has an automatic needle threader. You simply pull the thread through the guides on your machine and then pull down a lever to thread the needle.
  • Drop-In Bobbin: You don’t have to remove the bobbin case to put the bobbin into this machine. You simply drop it into the jam-resistant bobbin system. A bonus is that the clear bobbin cover lets you easily see when you’re running low on thread.

Pros and Cons of the Brother SE1900

The Brother SE1900 gives you the best bang for your buck. Check out the pros and cons below.

Pros

  • The Price: Embroidery machines can easily cost more than $7,000, but the Brother SE1900 doesn’t come close to that price. It’s an affordable embroidery machine that is good for beginner to intermediates.
  • Ease of Use: You won’t need to attend several classes or watch dozens of videos to learn how to use this machine. The Touchscreen display is easy to use and walks you through the process for embroidery.
  • Performance: Brother continually improves its products to outperform the competition. The Brother SE1900 is the upgraded version of the late SE1800 model.
  • 25-Year Limited Warranty: If anything goes wrong with your machine, Brother will make it right.
  • Online and Phone Support: All Brother products com with free online and phone support. If you have any questions, visit www.brother.com or call 1-877-BROTHER.
  • Embroidery Speed: This machine can do 650 stitches per minute!
  • Room Under the Arm: You need a lot of room under the arm of your sewing machine to perform embroidery, but this feature also makes the SE1900 a good machine for quilting.
  • USB Port: You don’t have to have your machine right next to your computer to import embroidery designs with a cord. You can simply put them on a USB drive and plug that into the SE1900 to transfer your designs.

Cons

  • Available Languages: This machine only comes with instructions in English and Spanish.
  • 5”x7” Embroidery Area: Most people find the embroidery field on the SE1900 large enough for everything they want to do, but there are embroidery machines with larger embroidery areas. Of course, you’ll have to pay 10 times as much for them.
  • Broken Needles on High Speed: This machine is fast, but you may need to slow down if you’re stitching through thick fabric to avoid breaking your needle.
