One of the newest trends in sewing is to use a projector for patterns. You simply project the image of a pattern onto your fabric instead of messing with paper patterns.

Sewing pattern projectors save you a lot of time because you don’t have to assemble PDF patterns before using them or waste a ton of money on paper and ink.

Many indie pattern companies now offer projector files along with their standard A4 files and A0 (copy shop) files.

An A0 file will work with your projector, but it requires more work than a projector file. You have to use a program like PDFStitcher to modify it. To be honest, though, sometimes there’s no difference between an A0 file and a projector file. However, a projector file is typically designed to take into account the grainlines and fold lines of your pattern, as well as having all the pieces lined up with the grain of your fabric. Good projector files also have bigger font and bolder cut lines.

If you already have a projector for sewing patterns, the next step is finding pattern companies that create projector files for it. Like I said, you can use A0 files, but projector files work better!
